Mind Trick Tip for Fitness, Life, Relationships and your Passion.

I was training the other day and after years of working out I finally realized an AMAZING mind trick that works phenomenally to push others past their known limits.

It’s a trick that also is equally applicable to your relationships, career or work, your passion, and life in general.

It is so incredibly simple that I truly believe schools should teach the principal to every child and have a class on it for every grade 1-12.  By using this technique people would develop into better, more passionate, powerful, successful, and ultimately lead a fuller abundant life.

I will start by using the example of working out.  It is imperative that you get a training partner.  Be it a coach, personal trainer, friend, girlfriend/boyfriend or co-worker.  Your partner or coach is absolutely critical to succeeding with the technique.

Look at the some of the greatest athletes, Michael Jordan, Michael Phelps, Bret Farve, Tiger Woods, the list could go on.  The point is, however, each super athlete, man or woman, has a coach or training partner.

You might ask, “I train just fine by myself”, or, “I work very hard by myself, why would I need a coach or trainer for either of these when I do well at them by myself?”

Because You really can’t truly push yourself hard enough to become greater at whatever it is you are doing.  You may think you can, but your body, and mind really has more to offer.

When working out, our mind will set a “number” of reps to complete for each set.  How tired are you really after each set?  I guarantee,  95% of the time you have more in you.  95% of the time you could have done something better on the project you just finished.

Here’s where you coach or partner comes in.  In order for you to push harder when working out, and in life, it always makes a considerable difference to have someone on your butt telling you to do more.

Your partner can see your facial expression, watch your form, and actually see how “tired” your body is becoming towards the end of the set.  And then, instead of focusing on a fixed “number” of reps to complete, BAM your partner or coach (co-worker or boss, husband/wife or boyfriend/girlfriend, this applies to work and relationships as well) tells you to push out 5, 10, 15, or 20 more reps!

By their simple statement, “Okay, great job….keep it up… only 15 more reps to go”!  They are consciously telling YOUR conscious and subconscious mind that you CAN do this.  No longer is your mind allowing yourself to stop at 12.

Your coach or trainer pushes you beyond your known limits.  You don’t know, what you don’t know you don’t know.  J But once your there, you will know, and by allowing yourself to be pushed more and harder each time, will you begin to see substantial results!!

Remember….Rear wheel drive vehicle, let off the gas and steer into the direction you need to keep going!!

front Wheel Drive vehicle STAY ON the Gas and turn into the direction you need to keep going!!

Breaking on ICY or snowy roads is NOT THE GREATEST thing to do when going out of control….even some abs systems will still lock your tires up….Your wheels always need to be rotating and pointed in the direction you want to go, not locked up and sliding, to regain more control over the vehicle.!

HAVE A GREAT DAY!

Emotional Intelligence (EQ) Not IQ. EQ is PAYS more.

Each and every Human being has been gifted with the ability to experience and feel emotions. The problem however, is that many, if not most humans don’t understand that emotions are also a thought, and thoughts attract and, if they are negative, REPEL energy.
Energy is either positive or negative.

There is no in-between.  For example, ever recognize when a person is depressed or going through depression that there energy level is low to NONE?!!

When a person is happy and takes everything as joy and happiness in life, they are always bright, happy and “FULL OF ENERGY!”

The Difference between a happy and a not-happy person is their ability to control emotions.

Happy people have the immediate ability to recognize and properly SHIFT a negative emotion into a positive, or understand that the emotion needs to be dealt  with, but at the time, it serves them not.

Generally this ability, along with many other characteristics, is defined by Emotional Intelligence.

The Great news is that emotional intelligence is a very developable type of knowledge.

The most simple way to begin to recognize your emotional thoughts, positive or negative, is to actually TAKE YOURSELF OUTSIDE YOURSELF and literally…..ASK YOURSELF why are you feeling this way, and does it SERVE You POSITIVELY (makes you feel good)  or NEGATIVELY (makes you feel NOT good)?

And, does this emotional thought need to be dealt with NOW, or can it be revisited at a later time?

By following these tips you will begin to understand and differentiate between your positive and negative emotions.

Because positive emotions are better, you will naturally “dwell” on those more often, and begin to quickly and effectively solve the negative emotions as you will realize they serve you no good.

IMPORTANT:  You must not let your negative emotions sit for too long.  They will eventually re-surface and create an issue again, sometimes even worse.  SO It is of utter importance that ANY negative emotion be questioned and put to peace.

Having a high EQ has been directly associated to successful and abundant people.   Where the normal standard, IQ, has been thought to directly correlate to success and wealth.

Emotions can be controlled.  Most people just don’t realize it. Positive and Happy people don’t just have a “Natural Disposition,” nor were they “gifted.”  They have either taught themselves emotional intelligence or were trained by there parents or a mentor.

HAVE AN AMAZING DAY!

MIND FOOD!! LOVE THIS!!!!

Just as our physical body is sustained by what we eat, so it is with the mind.  What is taken into the mind is as much a form of energy as the food we digest in our body.  The food that feeds the mind, however, is not physical but mental substance – imagery, thoughts, ideas, concepts and beliefs.  When those images and ideas are so highly charged that they stimulate the emotions and cause physical sensation, their effect is very powerful.  A constant diet of highly-charged imagery that perpetuates cruelty, violence, brutalism, sexual lust and laxity, however innocently packaged as ‘entertainment,’ is as much a health hazard as a diet of junk food, intoxicants and addictives, even though they, too, come attractively presented and wrapped.  Although our physical bodies are equipped with natural safety devices to screen out impurities which might have a damaging  effect, any overload of toxics will eventually poison the whole system.  It is the same with the mind.

Raw. Real. Important. Life Changing. Inspirational.

In the early 90’s I remember watching iconic films with passionate actors such as Arnold Schwarzzennagger acting in Predator, Sylvester Stallone in the many films of “Rocky” and soon followed by the great wrestler Dwayne Johnson, stepping to the stage in the late 90s.

At first, these giants impressed me with their “god like” statures, and each, specifically addressed in their own way, presented  a sense of greatness, accomplishment and heroism that created a burning fire in my heart an sole to follow the footsteps of these icons.

I started lifting weights my freshman year in high school, at 6’2” and tipping the scales at 215 pounds.  At the time, I had no idea or concept of the personal value, leadership, and motivational drive that working out and training would give me.

Moving Forward to 2002 I joined my first gym, Fit For You, located in my hometown of Traverse City, Michigan.  Once again, I was oblivious to the fact that I was unconsciously surrounding myself with people of success, pride, determination and the BELIEFE and WILL to succeed, the same characteristics and qualities Arnold, Dwayne and Sylvester had been surrounded and immersed in.

Even at 6’ 4”,  there was a small bit of intimidation from some of the big guys at the small but effective Fit For You.  But that intimidation was small compared to my will to succeed and push harder than each and every one of them.  I was at a disadvantage to most bodybuilders as well, much like Arnold in his younger days its not average to see a guy at 6’4”  crushing iron in his quest to build a better physique.

The gym has always been, and always will be, a personal sanctuary where I can retreat and regain focus on life.  Where, on a daily basis, I reintroduce living, breathing, sweating and grunting through each set in the present moment of Now.  Training is a daily reminder that the past and future can only acquire a small amount of attention, the only thing that matters is that moment.

Training is a powerful daily ritual that positively affects my physical body, my spiritual mind, sole, and is a natural beat in the rhythm of my life’s processes.

Training at Fit For You is more than just training.  It’s a second home, a place where blood, sweat, tears and puke have expelled from my body.   It’s unlike any other gym I have trained at, and a crucial element to my success in life.

I train with intensity, determination, and many times, with a very scary and devilish demeanor, and flames burning in my eyes.  Breaks between sets are minimal, 30 seconds max, only to focus and mentally prepare for the next set.  However, when the training is all over, the gentle, smiling and humorous “jolly green giant” personality returns.

It can be difficult to find a place to train with such versatility.  Some gyms are to “hard core,”  and many, too many…..are “soft core.”  Fit For You is special.  The workouts are tough.  There have been many days of puking, gut wrenching sets, tractor tire flipping hours, all of which can be difficult to accomplish in a family oriented gym.

The family and community instilled within each individual at Fit For You to push harder and move forward towards their goals has been an imperative inspiration and drive to my own personal goals.

Pushing through the same torturous workouts like Dwayne, Arnold and Sylvester on a daily basis has shown me the priceless fundamentals it takes to succeed in life. Determination, Perseverance, Willpower, Guts and the plain and simple Mental Drive to simply CRUSH the IRON upon every step through the door.

The inspiration to inspire, has come through being inspired by you.  Whether its guys like Rich Pratt who lost 94.4 pounds and changed his life, or Luke Coon, a trainer and bodybuilder at Fit For You who has been a “real life” inspiration on the bodybuilding stage.  It’s a true privilege and honor to inspire you to accomplish your goals and push harder in every aspect of your life.

Moving iron has given me the uncanny key to success, and like you, because your reading this, I know either have, or want that key, and want to become greater. Never rationalize the astounding benefit that your training generates on a daily basis and to appreciate how every session in the gym scores another win, a new accomplishment and moment to be inspired by, and to help you aspire.

The gym is my personal practice field for the game of life, when each and every day, I dominate and win.  Those accomplishments are carried high on my shoulders when I walk out the door into the world of life.  I ask you to create the same impression for your life, create that momentary success that you can walk out the door with, ready to handle anything that day, and eventually, the rest of your life.
